The trailer wiring adapters are not vehicle specific. They are universal and will be matched by what type of connector is on the tow vehicle and what type of connector is on the trailer.

The Hopkins Adapter 7-Way Round Pin To 4-Way Flat, part # 47405, is for a vehicle that has a 7-Way round pin connector and you are connecting to a trailer with a 4-Way flat connector.

The 7-Way blade style connectors are more common than the 7-Way round pin connectors. I would check the 7-Way connector on your 2001 Land Rover Discovery II to determine if you have the 7-Way round pin design or the 7-Way blade design. I am including a link to a FAQ page that will show the difference in the trailer connectors. I am also including a picture that will show a 7-Way round and a 7-Way blade connector.

If you determine that it is a 7-Way blade connector, the adapter you will need is Pollak 7-Way Blade to 4-Way Flat Connector Adapter, part # PK12716.

If you can let me know what wiring connectors you are trying to connect I can help you choose the correct part.

If there is a factory connection point on your 2003 Land Rover Discovery and you want to use that, you will need to contact a Land Rover dealer to find the harness that will connect to it. The harnesses we have available that will work with your Discovery are hardwire based, like part 56146KIT. Once a standard 4-pole has been installed, it can be built up into a 7-Way using something like our ETBC7KIT.
