Recommended Replacement Tires and Wheels for 2011 Forest River Cherokee Grey Wolf Toy Hauler

Question:

we have a 2011 Grey Wolf 19RR toy hauler. The tires/rims on the trailer are P205/75R14 Viva 2. The mfg sticker on the trailer states tire size as: ST205/75D15/C? What gives here? It appears to me that the tires currently on the trailer are the tires/wheels that came with it from the factory, dates on the tires are 2411, 2911... The Viva 2s rating arent even up to spec and are bulging on the sidewalls now. Time for new tires, and maybe rims? What is your opinion? GVWR is: 7475 Thanks

It appears that your tires have been replaced as the manufacturer would not have put a different tire size than their own recommendation.

I recommend the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" Vesper Silver Mod Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range D # MX97FR These combinations will ensure you have the proper wheels and tire size for your trailer. Both are rated for 2,150 lbs at 65 psi and speeds up to 81 mph. They come with a 2 year warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. They come balanced and ready to install.

The upgrade from the factory bias ply tires to the radials will mean less friction for your highway driving so the tires will run cooler. The upgrade from load rating C to load rating D will give you a thicker and firmer sidewall with a 8 ply rating versus a 6 ply rating. With the rims and tires size being the same as the manufacturer specs, this will give you the correct fit with a better quality tire for your travels. I've attached an article on trailer tires to assist.
