Troubleshooting Brake Controller Install of OEM Controller in 2016 Ford Expedition
Question:
Make Ford- Model Expedition- XLT w/4 pin trailer plug I just install a OEM brake controller which was easy, just pull out a coin holder and remove the wiring clip and pug in the module. I also added the 7 blade connector plug using the blue supplied wire for the electric brakes. Two questions one do I need to flash the computer to activate seems to have no response on brakes or dash message center and two, does Ford not run the orange 12 volt hot wire to the back of the vehicle? All lights working fine. Thanks in advance..

At the rear frame rail there are a few wires that you'll need to run to the 7-way as they most likely aren't complete like you have found. Typically connecting those wires to the 7-way will be all that's needed but sometimes the circuits aren't active. Since it's an OEM controller contacting Ford would be best option.
You may need to run a length of 10 gauge wire (part # 10-1-1) from the brake output circuit of the controller to the brake output circuit of the 7-way (blue wire). The # 10-1-1 is sold by the foot so you will need to order a quantity of the amount of feet you will need. You'd also need a length for the black wire of the controller to the positive post of your battery to power it. Then to complete the 12 volt accessory circuit you'd need to run from the positive post through a breaker like part # 9510 to the 12 volt accessory circuit of the 7-way which is the 1:00 position.
