Installation of 7-Way and Brake Controller on 2016 Ford Expedition with Factory 4-way
Question:
I have a 2016 Ford Expedition XLT 4x4 EL. It currently has a 4-way flat plug. I need a 7-way for my 19 foot travel trailer. I looked underneath and their is currently a blue wire labeled, electric brake. What parts do I need to wire the brake controller, to include the brake controller?

For your 2016 Ford Expedition, I recommend the Prodigy P3 # 90195 for a brake controller due to the ease of use and reliability. It is a customer favorite because of the LCD screen and diagnostics as well as preset boost options. You will then use custom wiring adapter # 22292 which connects to a factory harness behind your dash. I've attached installation instructions to assist.
As you stated, there is a blue brake wire and there is also a hot lead wire that is orange or red. This makes it really easy to install the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole w/Test Lamps # C57674. You will simply connect your 4-way, connect the blue wire to blue wire, black wire to red or orange hot lead, white with ring terminal to bare metal frame connection, and yellow to the reverse light wire behind your tail light.
