Installation of Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75751 Using Black Coated Bolts vs. Silver Carriage Bolts
Question:
Ive finished installing this hitch and all went smoothly. However, I noticed that it comes with the silver 7/16inch carriage bolt, block, nut, etc., but also with black coated bolts/nuts that appear larger. I used the silver 7/16inch for everything as that was what was shown in the video, but I was wondering if I should use the black ones instead. The instructions dont really have any info on whether to use one or the other. If you could clarify the purpose of each then I can make a decision on what is best for me and replace the bolts, if necessary. Otherwise, very pleased with prices, shipping, and installation guidance. Really made it a breeze to install properly.

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75751 comes with the two sets of hardware so it can be installed on vehicles without the factory hitch or in place of the factory hitch. Rest assured you have installed the hitch correctly on your vehicle. If you needed the black bolts you would have had factory weldnuts in the frame where you obviously did not or the spacer blocks would not have fit.
The installation instructions show a difference between page one and page two. Page one has the existing weld nuts in the frame rails where page two has the existing access holes in the frame rail.
