The 2004 Cadillac Escalade AWD can be flat towed by using a transmission lube pump from Remco Towing. You will also need base plates, a tow bar, safety chains, lighting, and supplemental braking.

For base plates, I recommend the Roadmaster XL base plates, # 199-5. These base plates are compatible with numerous Roadmaster tow bars and the draw bars can be removed when not towing the vehicle. For a compatible tow bar, I recommend the RoadMaster Blackhawk 2 All Terrain Tow Bar, # RM-422. The 10,000 pound capacity is enough for your Escalade plus the All Terrain feature makes connecting to the RV easier when not on level ground. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view.

Since the tow bar has safety chain guides, you will need straight safety cables like # RM-645. They're rated up to 10,000 pounds which is plenty for the curb weight of a 2004 Escalade EXT at about 5,900 pounds.

For lighting, there are several possible solutions depending on your specific needs and how often you will be towing the vehicle. I have included a link to an FAQ article that covers the various options for you.

Most states now require a supplemental braking system in the vehicle being towed. The easiest to set up and use is the Roadmaster Even Brake, # RM-9400. This is a proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the towing vehicle is braking. This saves wear and tear on both vehicles and is the safest way to stop.

I have also included a link to our series of FAQ articles on flat towing for you. You will also want to consult the vehicle owners manual towing section for other considerations when towing the vehicle.
