Recommended Boat Trailer Tires
Question:
Hi I just came from a 2 hour long haul. My tires are inflated to 80psi. I had a blow out. Tires are less than one year old. They are towmax. Is this a cheap tire?? Will the good year endurance I have as a spare fare better. It’s a 16” diameter. Any help will Be appreciated. I’d like the maximum tire load capacity out there. What do you recommend. Boat Is 12000 pounds. It’s a loadmaster trailer double axle 6k axels.

I'd be happy to recommend a tire for you, though we do not carry Towmax or Goodyear so I could not reliably comment on their quality.
You mentioned you want the maximum capacity, but so long as the tires are rated to meet or exceed your trailer's GVWR you will not need any further capacity; you can get those if you like but basically you'd be spending more money for tires that are a higher capacity and won't be seeing a benefit.
Having said that, since you have a pair of 6,000 lb axles your GVWR won't be over 12,000 lbs and I recommend the Provider ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire # TTWTRTM2358016E which fits 16" x 6" rims and is a load range E tire with a 3,520 lb capacity at 80 psi.
When inflated, this tire is 30.8" in diameter and is 9.25" wide so you do not need to ensure you have the proper clearances so the tires do not come into contact with the wheel wells, fender or each other.
