Installing Brake Controller on 2004 Dodge Ram 1500

The Pilot 2-6 Brake Electronic Brake Controller - Time Delayed # 80550 you asked from connects to the your 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 in a couple of different ways.
If you have the factory 7-way on your truck, then you will use wiring harness # 3020-P. The harness is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.
If you do not have the factory trailer wiring, then you will need to use the wiring kit # ETBC7 to hardwire your controller. You will connect the black wire to 12V power, the white wire to ground, the red wire to the cold side of your brake light switch at your brake pedal, and the blue wire will run to your 7-way's 5 o'clock pin location. I've attached a video to assist.
