Solution for Towing 5th Wheel Trailer with Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch

Question:

I currently have a curt double lock gooseneck and Anderson system we use to pull our fifth wheel . I dont like the Anderson system and would to replace it with the BandW Companion gooseneck to fifth wheel hitch. My question can this system be adapted to my curt double lock gooseneck hitch? Thx

I do have a solution for a more secure setup to tow a fifth-wheel trailer, however the B&W Companion # BWRVK3500 that you referenced is not compatible with your Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch. The Companion is designed specifically for the square ball hole that the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitches provide and cannot be adapted to fit your Curt system.

I instead recommend using the Curt X5 Base Rails Adapter # C16210. This is designed to fit your Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch and will provide you with industry-standard base rails that will work with almost any standard fifth-wheel hitch.

If you like the B&W brand, a great option is the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3255 if you have a long bed truck. This will work perfectly with the Curt adapter to give you a 18,000 pound fifth-wheel hitch for towing your trailer. It features 3/4 inch thick dual jaws for excellent contact with the king pin and a fully articulating head for simple hookup.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this hitch that you can also check out.
