Using Different Speed Rated Trailer Tires

I have Rainier st 205 17 R14 100/96L currently on my trailer can I change one tire to same size and brand but only difference is 100/96M?

It sounds like you are looking at a tire similar to the Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # AM32156. The speed rating you mention of "L" allows a max of 75 mph and the "M" tires allows a max of 81 mph.

If you use these different speed rated tires and don't exceed 75 mph I don't foresee an issue since it's the same tire size and as long as the load range is also the same.
