Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2010 Chevy Suburban with Automatic Transmission

I have a light duty 2010 Chevy Suburban with the 6 speed automatic, and a 3.08 rear gear. We recently bought a small travel trailer which should max out at 3000 lbs and will be pulling it with the Suburban. We live in a flat area and dont plan on pulling the trailer on any significant hills. The truck does not have an auxillary cooler on it now, the transmission fluid just cools through the radiator. The Derale 13504 appears to be a good choice for a cooler, but Im a little unclear what fittings would be needed. Is the adapter D13035 needed, and I have a little concern over it since it snaps into place??

According to Derale, you will need the Snap-in Fitting, # D13035. The fitting is used so you will not have to cut and flare lines yourself which can be difficult if you have never done it before. It requires a special tool to flare steel lines so a hose clamp can hold the hose on it. The snap-in simply means that you fit the hose ends over the fitting and the flared ends of it allow a clamp to hold it in place.
Given the size of the trailer you want to tow and the terrain being flat, Derale Transmission Cooler, # D13504, could be larger than needed. You can certainly use the larger cooler, the only thing to remember is that you need enough space in the engine compartment to mount the cooler and in cold weather, it will take longer to warm up.
