Which Wiring Harness Do I Need To Install Brake Controller on 2009 GMC Acadia
Question:
I have a 2009 GMC Acaida. I need the wiring harness from the plug tucked up under the dash to a trailer brake controler. Also is there anything I need to do under the hood?

If your 2009 GMC Acadia has a factory 7-way connector at the rear of the vehicle, you will need to use the Tekonsha Wire Replacement, part # 3026-P. This connector works with Tekonsha brake controllers, like the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part # 90885.
If your 2009 Acadia does not have a factory 7-way, you would not use the # 3026-P Teknonsha Wire. Instead, you would need to use the Brake Controller 7 and 4 Way Installation Kit, part # ETBC7.
To install the # 3026-P connector, one end would plug into the back of the brake controller, and the other end to the brake controller port underneath the dash. The port is located under the dash, to the left of the steering column and may be tucked up and out of the way (see attached picture).
If your Acadia has the factory tow package, there should not be any additional connections that will need to be made under the hood. I have linked an FAQ that shows the location of these connections.
