Recommended Rear Anti-Sway Bar for 2013 Fleetwood Bounder RV without Factory Sway Bar

Question:

Can I remove the stock rear anti sway bar on my fleetwood bounder motorhome and install a new anti sway bar or do I need both? My stock anti sway bar is damaged. Plan on installing a roadmaster anti sway bar but did not plan on replacing the stock sway bar unless it is necessary. Thank You

Based on my research, your 2013 Fleetwood Bounder RV is built on the Ford F-53 chassis. I do recommend verifying this with the RV's paperwork.

I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster regarding the anti-sway bars for your RV. He did say that your best option is to have the factory sway bar fixed or replaced before adding one of their aftermarket models. They are designed to retain the use and work with the factory bar and they just haven't been tested when used as the sole anti-sway bar on the F-53 chassis. You will receive much greater benefit with both units present and in good condition.

We have a few Roadmaster anti-sway bars available that are designed to fit this chassis and the particular model you need will depend on the RV's GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating). If you have a GVWR of 22,000, 24,000, or 26,000 pounds, you will want the Roadmaster # RM-1139-149. If the GVWR is 20,500 you will want part # RM-1139-145. If you have a GVWR of 15,700, 16,000, or 18,000 pounds the correct model is part # RM-1139-146.
