Items Needed for 2007 Nissan Quest Towing Pop-Up Camper Trailer

Hi, I have a 2007 Nissan Quest minivan. A few years ago, I installed a CURT 13563 Class 3 Trailer Hitch. My wife and I are looking at pop-up campers, but we would need to get the necessary wiring kit that would allow us to tow one, as we dont have one currently installed. Could you provide me a list of everything necessary that I would need? Thanks!

I am happy to help you with the few remaining towing items you'll need for your new pop-up camper that you will tow with your 2007 Nissan Quest. Since you already have your Curt Class III hitch # C13563 installed you'll just need wiring, a ball mount, hitch ball and some towing mirrors. If you are new to towing you might care to check out the linked articles on towing components and safe towing practices.

You can use Tekonsha 4-pole wiring harness # 118469. We even have an install video showing this kit installed in your same vehicle and I linked this for you. For a ball mount and hitch ball I suggest using an adjustable multi-ball item # C45900 which will give you height adjustment and both 2-inch and 2-5/16-inch hitch balls all in one item. But if you prefer you can refer to the linked article that explains how to select a ball mount with the right rise or drop to keep your hitched trailer level. To lock your chosen ball mount to your hitch you can use hitch lock # C23519.

For a set of towing mirrors I suggest K-Source clip-on mirror set # KS3891-2. These install without tools and they can snug down securely to your Quest mirrors.

Many lighter pop-ups do not have brakes so I will presume your does not; if it does please let me know so I can offer suggestions for the additional parts needed. Those parts include a wiring upgrade kit # ETBC7 to give you a 7-way connection and a trailer brake controller like the Prodigy # 90885 which power the trailer's electric drum brakes.

I recommend taking a look at your Quest owner's manual to confirm its own towing capacity (which could be different from the hitch capacity) to ensure you select a trailer whose loaded weight is compatible.
