Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2014 Chevy Impala Limited
Question:
Hello, I have a 2014 Chevrolet Impala Limited and am looking for something to haul my dirt bike around with. its a 2012 kx450 with a wet weight of 249. Unfortunately for the Impala all I am seeing are class 2 and I am unable to find a carrier that does not require anything less than a class 3. I know I do not want to use an adapter to a 2 inch but has anyone ever had you or a reputable fabrication shop cut off the inch and a half or whatever the class 2 is and weld on a 2 inch receiver? What else do you recommend?

Only solution we can recommend for transporting a motorcycle of any kind with your 2014 Chevy Impala Limited is a small trailer. Even if you could fabricate a hitch for the vehicle with a 2 inch opening it wouldn't be strong enough and would potentially damage the vehicle/hitch as well as endanger other motorists.
For a hitch the Draw Tite part # 36407 would be a great option confirmed to fit. For trailer wiring you'd want the # C59496. For a ball mount then you'd want part # 36061 and hitch ball # 19258 for a 2 inch ball or part # 19257 for 1-7/8 inch.
