What do I Need in My 2001 Dodge Van to Tow a Trailer with Brakes
Question:
Hi will this item Code: PK11893-11933 be able to also get my trailer to brake at the same time as my van? I have a 2001 dodge ram 2500 van, it does have the square connection on the back of the van. Do i need anything else to get the brakes to work? thanks

Yes, the Pollak 7-way, part # PK11893-11933, fits your 2001 Dodge van as long as you have the rectangle connector it plugs into. You also might take a look at the similar Tekonsha # 20135 which also plugs in to that connector but it gives you a 7-way and a 4-way. This way you already have both connectors if you ever need them. It also includes a mounting bracket.
In addition to the 7-way connector you also need a brake controller. I recommend the Prodigy P3, part # 90195 because it's one of the easiest to use and setup. You may need to run wiring in your van to install it. Part # 5506 includes the circuit breakers and wiring to help set it up.
