How to Pick Out Replacement Trailer Hub Based on Spindle Dimensions
Question:
The bearings on my boat trailer are the wrong size so numbers from them will only get the same problem I have now. The spindle is a straight shaft and standard bearings from Autozone fit well but when I set the spindle nut I cant get a cotter pin into the shaft. I can barely see the hole where it goes. So what can I do? should I drill a new hole?

Can you get me the dimensions of the spindle where the bearings ride? With that info I can tell you what spindle you have and what hub would fit it.
In order to do that you can either get the inner and outer bearing numbers from a hub or use a dial or digital caliper like part # PTW80157 to get exact measurements of the spindle. The measurements needed are the parts of the spindle where the bearings ride.
If you get back to me with that information I will help you pick out the right hub assemblies. Or, you can follow the link I attached that will take you to the page that has all of our replacement hubs.
You would want to first select the bolt pattern that you have, next select the inner bearing you have, followed by selecting your outer bearing, and then all the correct hubs will be listed.
