Will Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061 Fit with a 1/2" Gap Between Receiver and Hitch Adapter

Question:

I have a Home Plow by Meyer hitch extension. Due to its rise/drop, there is roughly 1/2inch of space between the trailer hitch and the vertical metal bar on the Meyer hitch extension. Is the piece that puts downward pressure on this hitch stabilizer small enough to fit into the 1/2inch space on my hitch extension piece to adequately secure it? If this wouldnt work - what would be your recommendation for a stabilizer. All off the other stabilizers seem to require large clearance on either the trailer hitch or hitch extension, neither of which I have.

The u-bolt part of the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061 could fit in the slight gap you have between the receiver and the adapter. But you could also change the position of the Quiet Hitch should the standard method not work well. It doesn't have to be positioned with the nuts pointed up.
