Will Curt Trailer Hitch and Extender for 2001 Honda CR-V be Able to Carry 110 lbs of Tongue Weight?
Question:
Hello. I am in the market for a hitch receiver and an extender. I want to know if both parts will support a total of roughly 110lb 50kg by weight. I am looking at the 2inch class 3 hitch receiver part# 13314, and 2inch hitch extender part# HE06. Note: The vehicle in question is a Honda CRV 2001 with a spare tire on the rear right-hand side clearance issue. And I will be hauling a 46lb bike rack and two 32lb mountain bikes 110lb total.

Expert Reply:
Curt Hitch # 13314 has a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs, and Brophy Hitch Extender # HE06 will reduce that capacity to 175 lbs so you will be fine to transport your 110 lbs of cargo - a 46 lb bike rack and pair of 32 lb mountain bikes.
The only other thing I wanted to note was that this hitch is going to require the use of stabilizing straps # 18050 with all non-trailer accessories such as bike racks and cargo carriers in order to maintain the warranty.
