Can Motor be Added to Follow Leg of Landing Gear System
Question:
Can a drive motor be adapted to attach to a follow leg or does it mount just like the lead leg? Physically I cannot tell a difference. Thanks and God Bless!!

In order to add a motor and convert a follow leg on a landing gear system to a lead leg, you would essentially need to replace the inner components on the leg as well, which is a very extensive and potentially expensive process. It will be much easier to simply replace the entire leg.
If you are looking to go to a dual motor setup, I recommend taking a look at the Ultra-Fab Deluxe Electric Landing Gear Set # UF17-943010. This system features a combined weight capacity of 12,000 pounds and dual electric jacks with independent switches that will allow for easy operation and accurate leveling. I have attached a short video demonstration on this system that you can also check out.
