Adding Manual Lockout to Surge Brake Actuator

Question:

Thanks for the answers, they are helpful. The next question is: can Item # DM72VR be fitted with a lock-out pin? I'm not asking that you do it, I can do it, if it's possible (I can probably do it if it's not possible also, but I don't intend to).

The reason there are different actuators for disc brakes and drum brakes is the psi the brakes operate at. Disc brakes operate at a higher psi than drum brakes and either too much or too little pressure can cause damage to the brakes. There are units that can have manual reverse lockouts installed but not all.

Demco Hydraulic Trailer Brake Actuator # DM72VR is not designed to to add a manual reverse lockout pin so I can't recommend doing it. There is a Manual Reverse Lockout Kit for Demco Hydraulic Trailer Brake Actuators # DM5939, though that is designed to work with model DA91 Demco actuators, and the closest we offer to the one you asked about is Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Drop # DM8669112.
