Parts Recommended to Tow a Trailer with a 2017 Honda Pilot

Question:

I am looking to install a 7-way trailer connector. I do not think my Honda Pilot has the tow package, as it has no hitch, but there is a white rectangular connector in the rear drivers side. Can I install a 7-way in this vehicle? If I want to install a brake controller as well for my pop-up camper brakes, what would you recommend? thank you.

It sounds like you don't have the tow package since you don't already have a connector or trailer hitch receiver. But that doesn't mean you can't add them. Adding a 7-way first requires a 4-way connector, like part # 118760. It plugs into that connector you found. Then you're going to convert it to a 7-way using our # ETBC7 kit. The kit includes everything you need for the fully functioning 7-way, including all the wiring you need to connect a brake controller. I've linked a video on the adapter being installed in a CR-V. It's a universal install so the process is basically the same.

Then for a brake controller I recommend our most popular one the Prodigy P3, part # 90195. It's the easiest to use becuase of the LCD and easiest to install because of the automatica leveling feature.

You also said you don't have a hitch receiver yet. I recommend the etrailer, part # e98840. This install video is also attached. Then you need a ball mount. I've linked our selection to fit the hitch as well as an article to help you determine the correct rise or drop you need with your trailer.
