Does the 2017 Ford Explorer have a Brake Controller Wiring Harness Adapter Plug Under Dash
Question:
I have a 2017 ford explorer xlt 4x4 with factory tow. I read the FAQ with the above subject, reply by Conner L. states, I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and there is NOT a brake controller wiring harness adapter plug on a 2017 Ford Explorer. This adapter was present on previous model years but has since been removed therefore, the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3035-P will not work for you. I pulled the panel below the steering wheel on my explorer and found that there is a brake controller wiring harness adapter plug. I plugged in the 3035-p and connected my Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller. The system worked. just an fyi. Thanks for your great videos and trailering info

Thank you for following up on this. At one point we were told that the 2017 Ford Explorer didn't have a brake controller port under the dash but that was quickly reversed and it was confirmed that the # 3035-P does fit the 2017 Ford Explorer and will be all that you need to install the Prodigy P3 # 90195. I am glad you brought this to our attention so that hopefully it helps clear up any future customers possible questions.
