Parts Needed to Add Brake Controller to 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
I have a 2008 Jeep grand Cherokee without a factory tow package and I’m looking to pull my pop-up camper. Anyways it is a 7 prong and I was wondering if there is an all in one system. Thanks!

There is no all-in-one kit to add a brake controller to your 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but I can give you all the parts you need so you can pull your pop-up camper. Since you do not have the factory tow package you need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one) and a fit for your Jeep is the T-One Harness # 118425, which plugs into connection points behind your tail lights. I've added a link to a video showing this part being installed in an '08 Grand Cherokee for you.
You will also need Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 which has the rest of the necessary components required to install a brake controller in your '08 Grand Cherokee, such as a 7- and 4-way trailer connector. As for the brake controller itself, I strongly recommend the Prodigy P3 # 90195; it is the most popular model we carry due to its effectiveness and ease of use. It will activate your trailer's brakes immediately in proportion to your Jeep's brakes and offers three different boost levels so you can adjust your braking power.
The P3 levels automatically, has constant diagnostic checks, contains safeguards which defend your controller against shorts, and features an LCD display which is much easier to read than that of other controllers. This controller has been met with nearly universal praise; it has been reviewed by our customers more than 2,000 times and is averaging close to 5 out of 5 stars. I've added links to video reviews of the P3 for you to take a look at as well.
