Recommended Trailer Shock Absorption for 3,500 lb Axles and Slide Out Mechanism Near Axles
Question:
I am looking for a shock kit for my travel trailer. It has 2 3/8 tandem axles. The lippert kit will not fit as it will interfere with the slide mechanism. I understand the joyrider kit is for 3inch axles only? The joyrider design brackets that bolt up under the I-beam would work unlike the lippert ones that bolt to the side. What options are available for my trailer?

Since the Lippert Components Bolt-On Shock Mount Kit w/Heavy Duty Oil Shocks - Fits 2-3/8" Axle Tube # LC281255 won't work due to your slide out, and the Joy Rider systems only are for either 2 inch or 3 inch axles, I have another option for you to consider.
We have the E-Z Flex Heavy Duty Rubber Suspension System by Dexter Axle - 5-5/8" Equalizers # K71-652-00 or the Lippert Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers - 3K to 6K # LC279687. These cushioned equalizers have an integrated rubber shock absorber to reduce the impact from the road before the frame feels any impact.
Another option is the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System Medium-Duty Trailers 7,000 lbs # TTRA1032. These springs fit between the springs and the frame of your trailer. I've attached a video to assist.
