Availability of a Trailer Hitch that Will Fit a 1998 Jeep Wrangler with a Tube Style Bumper
Question:
I have a tubular rear bumper on my 1998 jeep wrangler. Which class II or III hitch will fit this vehicle? I understand putting a hitch on a tubular bumper can be tricky. Curt 13408 a possibility?? Thank you,

I spoke with my contacts at Curt and Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese about this issue and I have some information for you. For Curt, my contact stated that if the tube bumper is from the factory and not an aftermarket or dealer added item, then their trailer hitches, like # 13408, will fit.
For Draw-Tite, trailer hitch # 75193, my contact stated there are no exceptions as long as the bumper came from the factory.
The issue seems to be that the aftermarket and dealer bumpers attach at the same points as the trailer hitches and that is why a trailer hitch cannot be added to that set up. I have included a link to the installation instructions for all 3 of the trailer hitches listed above along with a couple of videos showing installations.
