Turn Signals are Dim with Brake Lights Applied on Magnetic Tow Lights

Question:

When I put on the turn signal and brake at the same time you can barely see the turn signal blink - what could the problem be? Have Brite lite wired in correctly and getting proper power to 7 prong connected on motorhome. Turn signal, running lights, and brake all work correctly on magnetic tow light. Just when the brake and turn signal are applied at the same time is there a problem

It doesn't sound like to me that there is anything wrong with the lights or wiring. The turn signal and brake light are both carried through the same dual filament bulb. The circuit associated with the brake light will generally be brighter than the circuit for the turn signal.

I recommend switching to an LED option which will make the turn signals much brighter when the brakes are applied in comparison to a set of magnetic tow lights with an incandescent bulb. For this we have the MaxxTow Magnetic Tow Lights part # C6304 which contain led bulbs with both amber and red lenses. You will need an adapter like part # PK12716 to use them with the 7-way on your motorhome.

Another option you have is to use a set of magnetic tow lights with separate brake and turn signal bulbs like the Split Lens Magnetic Towing Tail Lights part # SPL30B-6. You will also need an adapter like part # 47549 to use them with the 7-way on your motorhome.

I have attached a review video on the LED magnetic tow lights for you as well.
