Replacement Bearing for 3,500 Pound Axle on Boat Trailer

Question:

I need to replace the bearings on my boat trailer and am unsure which bearing to buy. My trailer is a tandem axle. I installed 3,500 pound 10 inch Kodiak disc brakes on one axle if that helps. Can you tell me what part number bearings and seals I should order? Thanks,

The most accurate method for determining the correct bearing replacements is simply to pull your existing hubs or rotors and check for the bearings that they use. The bearing numbers should be stamped right onto the bearings themselves, or you can simply take a few measurements along the trailer spindle if the numbers can't be located (see attached image).

With that being said, it's very likely that for your 3,500 pound axle with 10 inch Kodiac assemblies installed, you will need the # L68149 Inner Bearing (1.378 inch inner diameter) and the # L44649 Outer Bearing (1.063 inner diameter). The seal you need should be # RG06-050, which has an inner diameter of 1.719 inches and an outer diameter of 2.565 inches.

For a complete kit that includes these bearings and seal, along with the races and cotter pin, you can use the Bearing Kit # BK2-100.
