What is Needed to Replace a Tekonsha PRIMUS Trailer Brake Controller with a P3 on a 2007 Dodge Ram
Question:
How do I go from a primus to a P3 for a trailer w/ Electric over Hydraulic brakes. It is a 7 pin factory plug with the 3020P harness installed for the primus. Do I use the center pin? How do I wire the plugs?

Expert Reply:
The Tekonsha Primus # TK90160 and the P3, # 90195, use the same wiring harness, # 3020-P. If you already have a Prius installed and want to switch over to the P3, all you have to do is disconnect the Primus, remove it, and then connect and mount the P3 using the same plug. No other modifications or wiring changes are needed.
