Installing the Tekonsha Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter with 4-Way Flat # 119178 and the Hopkins Adapter # 37185 will give you your basic trailer light functions.
If you are wanting to have a fully functioning 7-Way then you want to install the part # 119178 and the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 which includes the Hopkins Adapter # 37185 as well as wiring, connectors, and other parts needed for the installation. I have linked a helpful article that you can reference for this installation.
For a brake controller I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This is a proportional controller that applies the electric brakes on your trailer at the same time and with the same intensity as the brakes on your semi. The P3 is popular because it is easy to use due to the LCD screen that doesn't require you to remember codes. To install the brake controller on your semi you simply need to connect the following wire colors from the included pigtail to the following functions on your semi:
Black - 12V Power
Blue - Brake Controller Output to 7-Way
White - Ground
Red - COLD Side of Stop Light Switch (only gets hot when brake pedal is pressed)
The ETBC7 kit includes a circuit tester that you can use to find the cold side of your stop light switch which should be up under the dash of your semi. I have linked a helpful article for this installation as well.
If you would rather not tie into your stop light switch then you can install the Hayes Air Actuated Trailer Brake Controller # HA100400C which ties into your air brakes. The wire configuration is the same, but connecting the red wire is optional.
I have linked some review videos and installation details in addition to the helpful articles to help you get a good idea of what you need to do for the installations.
