Will a Rooftop Cargo Carrier Allow Rear Hatch to Open on 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I am interested in purchasing the roof top cargo carrier for my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. I want to make sure that I purchase the right size for my hatch to be able to open and that I get all the appropriate equipment to install. I currently have a rack kit installed where my ski/snow board carrier is mounted. What size cargo carrier would fit and what other equipment would I need to install?

We can help you get the right rooftop cargo box for your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee to ensure the rear hatch will open. In order to do this you would simply need to measure from the center of your front crossbar to the seam where the hatch opens on your '15 Grand Cherokee.
For example, if that measurement was at least 47-1/2" then the Thule Force XT # TH6357B would work and allow your rear hatch to open. You can use the accompanying diagram to get the measurements you'd need for the correct cargo box. The boxes will not need any additional hardware, you will only need to make sure they are compatible with your specific roof rack. The Thule Force XT I mentioned will fit maximum crossbar dimensions of 3-1/2" wide x 1-11/16" tall and needs a crossbar spread between 23-5/8" and 33".
