How to Attach Chain Style Spring Bars to a 4 Inch Wide Trailer Frame
Question:
I need a bracket that looks like C17008, but that will fit my RV trailer which is not Fits trailer frames up to 2-3/4inch wide, my trailer frame is 4inch wide.

In order to use a chain style weight distribution system on a trailer with a frame rail that is 4" wide, you are going to want to install a set of bolt-on chain hanger brackets like part # C17005. These brackets work with most chain style spring bars up to 1,500 lbs. As you can see in the attached photo, the method to attach the chains will vary slightly but nonetheless will still work for you and is one of your only options.
