Is It Normal to Hear Clicking in Brake Assembly of Trailer When Truck is Connected
Question:
A similar question by someone else was answered by Michael H. His response was The clicking from the brakes on the trailer that you hear is happening because there is some power going back to them. Unplugging the trailer connector will stop this from happening. My question is Is this normal to hear the clicking or is there a problem? Im using a Tekonsha Prodigy.

The clicking is the brake controller testing for a brake magnet load on the circuit. If it senses the brake magnets it knows a trailer is connected and there are brakes it can activate. The noise is the magnets in the assemblies momentarily touching the drum of the hub as they activate slightly. It's totally normal for a Prodigy like the P2 # 90885.
