Auto Sliding Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2012 Ford F-250 with Factory Rail Kit

Question:

I need to ask a follow up question. My truck is the 2012 F350 DRW with an 8 foot bed. Still want the 21k capacity. Because of a Headache rack i install and the 5th wheel camper as i turn 50 to 90 degree, may come in contact with each other. Will the DM8550038 fit in my 8 foot bed and do what it is designed to do for the smaller bed box????

I have a perfect solution for you. The Demco Hijacker Autoslide hitch part # DM8550038 is an auto-sliding fifth wheel hitch with a 21k capacity that fits directly to the factory Ford fifth wheel rail kit you have in your 2012 Ford F-350.

I attached a review video for this hitch for you to check out as well.

I have looked over the information several times, video too. Looks like a very good option. I have not found the weight of the unit. if i use the Demco 5th Wheel Lifting Bracket Item # DM6100, it will hold up to 500 lb. So i'm guessing the hitch weight is under 500 lbs. Maybe? Do you have weight of the 21k slider hitch?

The weight of the Demco 21k hitch part # DM8550038 I mentioned is 321 lbs so the # DM6100 would work easily with it since it has a 500 lb capacity.

Yes, the Demco Hijacker Autoslide # DM8550038 will fit the Ford factory rail kit of your 2012 Ford F-250 long bed. The rail kits on the Ford trucks are the same size regardless of bed length and the slider mechanism will still operate like it's designed to in a long bed truck.
