How to Determine If Andersen Ultimate Fifth Wheel Connection Will Give Clearance to Make Tight Turn

Question:

Hi will this product work with a 2012 F-250 Superduty 6-1/2 bed or should I go with a manual slider and if slider what is the quietest on you recommend. Thanks

The only way to determine if you would have turning clearance is to also know the width of the nose of the trailer. Here is the formula you would need to use once you have that info.

(A + B) - C = Clearance
A = Distance from the center of the gooseneck ball to the truck cab
B = Offset used, (9 inches for the # AM3200)
C = Width of the nose of the trailer divided by 2.

You will need at least 4 inches of clearance to safely make a 90 degree turn.

Since your truck has a 6-1/2 foot bed you'd have a better chance at having the clearance needed than some of the shorter beds. Andersen generally states that this will work for truck beds longer than 6 feet but I'd still recommend measuring to be sure.
