Could Andersen Ultimate Connection AM3200 Replace Slider Hitch and Provide Turning Clearance

Question:

I have a reflections 337rl towed with a standard 61/2 ft bed. I current have a slider which, with limited use, the slider option has never been used. The top of the head is ~18.5 inches above the bed. I am look at changing to a lighter hitch. My questions are: Can I get enough height with the Anderson using standard rails? What kind of experience with the turn angle do people with a similar rig have? Truck is an 2007 GMC Duramax classic/

If you have never had to use the slider function of your fifth wheel hitch and you wanted to change hitches you could go with a stationary hitch setup since the slider function wouldn't be needed. Typically this isn't the case for short bed trucks like yours but if your trailer has a narrower nose it's certainly possible.

I spoke with my contact at Andersen and he informed me that the Ultimate 5th Wheel Adapter part # AM3200 that you referenced has three height settings now. One that is 15-3/4 inches, 16-11/16 inches, and 18 inches.

I attached a picture that shows these dimensions.

That means it should pretty easily match the height you would need. Turning clearance would be the same if not better since the pivot point on this is offset 9 inches.
