Recommended Weight Distribution System for Quick Installation at Trailer Dealership
Question:
Im looking into all possible options for towing stability. We currently have a 2012 Tundra rated at 9800lbs towing with rear air bags, a pneumatic pump for leveling control, and a P3 brake controller. The TT has a GVWM of 8750 and dry of 6102 with a tongue weight of 599 lbs. We will load the trailer accordingly to get roughly 12 hitch weight. Ive reviewed several options and want the safest system I can get but have one small dilemma. The TT is currently 7.5 hours away and I may not have the luxury of a system that has a lengthy installation time. RP66084 seems like a solid top of the line unit. it also seems like it would take the longest to install. I need the time at the dealer to review any potential issues with the trailer and not installing a hitch system. Can you recommend a system that is comparable to this with a simple installation?

The Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control # RP66084 is absolutely a personal favorite with the anti-sway being far more effective than other systems. This system will only take a little longer than others based on layout, but I understand your concern.
For quick mounting and yet a really good system with sway control, I recommend the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # RP66559. This system uses automotive grade friction material that the bars rest on with force to help control sway. The head tilt is easy with preset positions that make the proper angle easy. There are just 4 bolts needed to set the system up for use on your trailer. The brackets simply need to be installed between 27 and 32 inches back from the center of the coupler.
You will need hitch ball # A-90 for a 2 inch ball or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch ball.
