Recommended Sway Control for 2016 Kia Sorento and Stealth Blackhawk V-nose Trailer

Question:

I have a 2016 Kia Sorento with the V6, and it is rated for a 500lb. tongue weight and 5000 lb. towing capacity as setup currently. Ive installed a hitch, brake module, and all of the wiring which I purchased from your site. I am towing a Stealth Blackhawk 12foot V-nose enclosed trailer which will max out at about 3800 lbs of cargo and motorcycles. I am curious if you would recommend a small Weight Distribution hitch with this setup? I towed this trailer previously with a 2015 Nissan Frontier with similar towing capabilities with out one.

None of our trailer hitch receivers for your 2016 Kia Sorento are rated for use with a weight distribution system, so I don't recommend using one. If you are wanting to have better sway control, then I recommend using the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660 and Reese Sway-Control Bracket # RP26003. This will help to combat sway caused by crosswinds and passing motorist.
