Parts Needed to Install 7-Way Connector and Brake Controller in Silverado with 4-Pole Wiring
Question:
Hello, I have a 2005 Silverado with a flat four trailer harness. I would like to change that over to a RV 7 Blade plug. What do you recommend I use? I also may need to add a trailer controller. Would like to have both options if possible. Thanks!!

We have what you need.
To convert your existing 4-pole wiring setup to the 7-way format you can use adapter part # 37185.
This item itself does NOT add more circuits for things like trailer brakes but it does convert the connector format to the 7-way type. If you're not in need of the controller just now you can simply add the adapter to give you the same signals that are now on the 4-pole harness but in the 7-way connector format. This plugs in to your existing 4-pole; pigtail leads are provided for when you need to make additional circuit connections for reverse lights, trailer brakes and 12V auxiliary power.
If you instead want a fully-functional 7-way and all the parts you need to install that and a trailer brake controller like the excellent Prodigy P3 # 90195 or the P2 # 90885 then instead of part # 37185 order brake controller install kit # ETBC7. This has all the wiring and connectors needed to install a brake controller and the kit INCLUDES the 7-way adapter part # 37185. In this case order only the controller you prefer and the # ETBC7. Nothing more is needed.
