Acura MDX 2005 Transmission and Power Steering Fluid Cooler Recommendations
Question:
My SUV is an Acura MDX 2005 Base model. Question#1: Can I use this transmission cooler, and if yes where is the right place to install it? If this is not the right model, what other model can I use? Question#2: For the same vehicle what is the power steering fluid cooler I can use?

Yes, the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13502, would be a good choice for your 2005 Acura MDX. I linked a drawing showing how the cooler will install and the best location for mounting the cooler on your MDX. You will need to measure the space in the front of your vehicle for mounting the cooler, to determine if this cooler will fit. Dimensions for all of our coolers are on the product pages.
We also have a video of a transmission cooler install that should be helpful, see link.
Since you are thinking about installing both a transmission cooler and a power steering cooler, I would recommend going with the Derale Combination Transmission/Engine Oil Cooler Core, # D13302, which is two coolers in one. You will need 2 of the Transmission Cooler Installation Kits, # D12006, along with two fittings for the power steering cooler lines on your Acura.
To determine the correct fittings for the power steering cooler installation you will need to determine the inside diameter of the power steering return line hose, and select fittings that will install inline with the hose from the cooler. We have 3/8 inch barb fittings, # D98028, that should work for your vehicle, but check to be sure.
If you wanted to install a separate power steering cooler, the Derale 4-Pass Tube-Fin Power Steering Cooler, item # D13212, would be a good choice along with the fittings mentioned above.
