Recommended Cargo Carrier with Ramp for Pride Victory Sport Scooter and Inflatable Pontoon Boat
Question:
i am looking for a carrier to do double duty. I have a Pride, victory 10 sport 4 wheel scooter. i wan to be able to haul that, but the primary purpose will be to haul a 9foot inflatable Sea Eagle pontoon boat. it would be my intention to put the base in the carrier and haul it vertically. the boat is a tad over 48 inch and i believe it would do better if the ramp could be removed. i cannot see if your units have hinges or just two bolts on each side. i need something that is easy and not complicated to remove the ramp. i will be using it with a Toyota 4 runner so i need a relatively long ramp when used for that purpose. I have looked at the Silver Spring SC 400 and 500 and like the quality and features, but it appears to have hinges. any observations, suggestions, information you can offer will be appreciated. thanks

For your scooter, the overall length from what I can find is 47 inches and the overall width is 26 inches. I recommend for your purposes the Flint Hill Goods 30" x 50" Wheelchair Carrier w/ 48" Ramp - 2" Hitch # FHG77ZR. This carrier has hinges with pin and cotter pin, so you could easily remove the ramp and use other clips to secure the pins for travel if you decide to utilize that option as well. The three pins may be easier to remove than a couple of bolts. This carrier weighs 80 pounds and will carry 500 pounds. It also comes with an anti-rattle device to prevent movement of the carrier inside of the the hitch.
Another option is the 32x48 Pro Series Steel Solo Cargo Carrier and Folding Ramp # PS10401-10402 which has bolts for the ramp connection point. This carrier weighs 101 pounds and a capacity of 400 pounds.
I've attached videos of both products to assist.
