Does Thule The Stacker Really Have a 10 Foot Limit for Kayak Length?

Question:

I am very interested in this roof rack, but I have an 11.5foot kayak and the description suggests that this should only be used with kayaks no longer than 10. Another customer asked a similar question and eTrailers answer confirmed a 10 foot kayak length limitation. But, I feel there may be some mix-up... Thules official product page for this product only lists the following limitation: Accommodates kayaks up to 36inch wide and weighing 75 lbs It is very odd that their own website would list a width limitation of 36, but omit a length limitation of 10foot a Kayak longer than 10foot is much more common than a Kayak wider than 36

Your skepticisim is understandable but this question has come up before and Thule has said that the reason the Thule The Stacker # TH830 can only handle kayaks which are 10 feet or less is because longer kayaks are vulnerable to damage with this carrier because it depends too greatly on the roof rack to remain stable.
