Recommendations for 2018 GMC Sierra 3500 5th Wheel Setup

Question:

You guys are a great resource and so I need to ask...Im considering upgrading my RAM to a 18 Sierra 3500. I dont think the dealer has the info I need so Im looking for any info you can provide. New truck has a tow package so my two questions are: Does the GMC brake controller work with the trailers hydraulic brake system? Will the Pull-Rite auto slide hitch mount into the standard bed of the GMC?

The GMC integrated brake controller on your 2018 GMC Sierra 3500 may or may not work with your EOH system. Previous model years have required an adapter like the HydraStar # HBA-CAM to function well together.

The Pull-Rite Auto slide hitch will work in a standard bed of the GMC truck. You don't need a sliding hitch with an 8 foot bed, but you would with the 6-1/2 foot bed. For either bed size, I recommend the custom bed rails # RP50066-58 for industry standard above bed rails. If you get the factory rail puck system, then you will need rail adapter # DM6194 for your Pull-rite if you have a short bed or # DM6206 for an 8 foot bed.

We don't carry the Pull-Rite, so if you don't already have it, let me make a suggestion. For a short bed truck, I recommend the Demco Hijacker autoslide in either the 18K # DM8550034 or the 21K # DM8550035. For an 8 foot bed, I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3700 or the Reese M5 # RP46FR if you use above-bed rails.

For a wiring harness I recommend using # 50-97-410 to add a second 7-way to the bed of your truck for convenient connection and a clean look. Let me know if you have further questions.
