Options for Power Trailer Interior Lights When Trailer is Parked
Question:
Hello, I’m looking for a way to drive the dome lights 12 Volt in my enclosed trailer while the trailer is parked at home and not connected to the vehicles. To avoid modifying the existing wiring I would like to just plug the trailer’s 7-blade connector into something that eventually plugs into an AC outlet in my garage. I’ve tried connecting a DC power supply to the 12-Volt and Ground connectors on the trailer plug, but I’m guessing the 1-2 Amp power supplies are not enough to power up the lights. What are my options? Thank you!

Probably the best way to do what you are looking to do would be to install a vehicle battery in the trailer to power your trailer lights and then use a charger like the part # CTEK56353 to keep the battery charged when you have the trailer parked.
There really isn't a 7-way style of adapter to allow you to plug your DC lights into a wall outlet.
