This vehicle is able to be flat towed if you have a manual transmission. If you have an automatic transmission, you will want to check your owner's manual because according to your owners manual you may need to trailer tow that vehicle.

For your flat towing system for a 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon, I recommend starting with the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX3613. This should be installed using threadlocker like # LT37420.

For a tow bar, I recommend the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar # BX7380 which comes with the safety cables needed. I also recommend the Tow Bar locks keyed alike # BX88177 to secure your investment.

For your tow bar wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 which will give you clean connections and utilize your Subaru vehicle wiring for a clean look.

For your supplemental braking system, I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play Duo # SM99251. This system is a supplemental system that utilizes proportional braking. It has an inertia sensor and allows the brake light wiring and deceleration to provided the appropriate braking intensity at the same time as you hit the brake pedal in your motorhome. It only requires adjustment at installation and allows you to have a plug and play system after that initial adjustment.

You also will most likely need a high-low adapter. I've linked an article to assist with that measurement and linked the page to your options for your convenience. That will complete your flat towing system for your 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon.
