Can the Curt Spyder 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Adapter Handle a Loaded 3-Horse Trailer

Question:

Couple questions - I am looking to tow a 3 horse gooseneck horse trailer with an unfinished living quarter, fully loaded with three horses approx. 3000# and gear 4 - 500# all aluminum. Can this hitch handle the weight of the trailer? The box is an 8foot box - any issues there? The truck is a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 8foot box with extended cab and the hitch is a 2000 Classic 15k Part # 30032, will the spider hitch fit the rails of this older hitch? Thank you so much for your time and assistance.

Expert Reply:

The Curt Spyder Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # 16085 is rated for 25,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 6,250 pounds pin weight so provided that the trailer is under those capacities the Spyder will handle it, no problem.

The Spyder will also fit the 5th wheel rails that you have in your 2004 Dodge Ram! I have linked a video showing the features of the Spyder for you.
