Pin Hole Covering by Hitch Fit Warning for Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier Explained
Question:
I do not understand this statement: Do not use the spare tire carrier if any part of the pin hole on the carriers receiver is over the lip of your RVs trailer hitch receiver. This can cause the shank of the spare tire carrier to break at that point. Could you restate it it for me or provide an illustration? My RVs 2inch receiver pin hole is 9.5inch in from the rear wall of the RV so I am close to the 10inch maximum. I need to understand this warning before I order. thanks very much,

That's a very good question. Thankfully Roadmaster does a better job describing the tech tip for the # RM-195225 in the instructions. If you check out the picture I attached you'll see a diagram and a better description.
Basically when you install this if you use the pin hole at the back of the shank you have to make sure that the second pin hole is not partially covered by the RV's hitch opening.
