To flat tow a 2013 Jeep Patriot, you will need base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, wiring, a braking system, and maybe a high-low hitch adapter.

For base plates, I recommend the Roadmaster EZ2 Base Plate Kit, Item # 521441-1, because it is designed for your vehicle. It also has twistlock brackets that are virtually invisible and can be removed. The Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar, Item # RM-522, is a great choice that fits the Roadmaster EZ2 Base Plate. Durable safety cables are the Roadmaster Coiled Safety Cables, Item # RM-643

For lighting, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit Item # RM-15267 that will use your vehicle's tail lights and also includes 7-wire to 6-wire coiled electrical cord. You will also need a brake relay light like Item # RM-88400 that will work with the supplemental braking system.

A high-low hitch adapter may also be needed to keep your tow bar level while flat towing the Jeep. A "safe zone" of 3 inches above or 3 inches below level must be maintained while towing a vehicle. High-low adapters provide necessary rise or drop to get into the "safe zone". I have attached a link to our available selections.

Finally, the Stay-In-Play Braking System, Item # SM99251, is a great proportional braking system that has a convenient one time set-up.

Before flat towing your 2013 Jeep Patriot, check your vehicle owner's manual for suggestions and recommendations. Also, some Patriot models have CVT transmissions and can not be flat towed.

I have attached additional information and videos for you to checkout to help you with your towing project.
