5,200 lb Axle Solution for 2017 Coachmen Catalina 243RBS

Question:

We want to upgrade our travel trailers axles. After one trip, the back axle was bent. The camper was not overloaded. It now has 3500# axles. should we put 4000# or 5200# axles on it. The trailers gvwr is 7600.

It's interesting that you have a trailer with a 7,600 GVWR yet only 7k of axle capacity. I'd recommend going with a 4k or 5.2k as it's the more common capacity. Is the trailer sitting level?

We don't have an extensive list of standard trailer axles we can help you with, but best option for a leaf spring axle would be to find a local trailer shop to you who can order you in axles based on dimensions and capacity.

The only 5,200 axle setup we have would be a Timbren Axle Less # ASR5200S01 which would work well but is more like a torsion spring setup. These also can be used as tandem setups. For brake hubs you'd need the part # 8-201-5UC3-EZ and then for a brake assembly set you'd need # AKEBRK-7-SA.
