Question:
i know there are measurements i can do to find this out, but im looking at purchasing the CAB-C5GX1216 to my 2014 32foot sunset trail reserve and was wondering if that has worked out with other customers as far as clearance goes??

An adapter product like the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5GX1216 can provide additional clearance as well as allow coupling a 5th wheel trailer to a tow vehicle that has a gooseneck hitch ball. For bed lengths of 6-feet or more this adapter's 7-1/2-inch offset design will be enough to avoid trailer-to-cab contact.
Adapters like this can induce additional stress in a trailer frame that may not be covered under the trailer maker's frame warranty.
For this reason there are similar products that also allow towing a 5th wheel trailer with a gooseneck hitch, but which do NOT cause extra stress on the trailer frame. That item is called a Goose Box, and it is a replacement pin box for the trailer. These bolt on to the trailer in the same way as the standard 5th wheel pin box but they couple to a gooseneck ball rather than to a 5th wheel hitch. Please refer to the linked article which covers all types of 5th wheel adapters. I also linked our page for Goose Box adapters like # RP85FR which is a bolt-on replacement for the popular Lippert 1621 pin box.
Typically towing without an adapter will provide somewhat less noise and rattle than towing with one.
